Photos of Vietnam Tourism Human Resources Forum

On April 12, 2019, at Independence Palace, 135 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Hoa Sen University in collaboration with Hochiminh City Department of Tourism successfully organized the Vietnam Tourism Human Resource Forum 2019.

The forum attracted more than 300 delegates from the Government, Ministries, Tourism Departments throughout the country, domestic and international tourism training institutions, state-owned and private enterprises with press and communication agencies.

In particular, the forum was welcomed Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. Coming to the forum, the Prime Minister has pointed out 3 important factors in the development of tourism human resources, namely "people, infrastructure and strategy", which will contribute to building Vietnam become an attractive destination in the eyes of international friends.

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong emphasized: "HCMC strives to make tourism truly a key economic sector by 2020 and a group of cities with the leading tourism development in Southeast Asia by 2030"

Master Bui Ta Hoang Vu - Director of HCMC Department of Tourism said that in 2018, Vietnam's tourism industry welcomed 15.5 million international visitors, 23 billion USD in national tourism revenue, contributing 7.5% to GDP. This is an impressive increase in revenue, but the productivity is quite low, with only 3,477 USD / year / person. Meanwhile in Singapore, the country with a population of nearly 5.9 million, there are about 80% working in the tourism industry, each employee in the industry generates 47,713 USD / year, 15 times more than Vietnam; In Thailand, each employee generates 8,369 USD/ year, 2.5 times more.

"Currently, Hoa Sen University is following the right direction in training such human resources, taking orders from businesses and asking businesses to make specific requirements on the quality of human resources to meet the culture of the business. In 2019, Hoa Sen University also had contracts to supply human resources in hospitality for students after graduation."  Prof. Dr. Mai Hong Quy shared.

Thus, the Tourism Human Resource Forum 2019 has officially closed. Within the framework of the forum, more than 60 press agencies attended and reported, 60 papers were sent to the organizers. In the morning session, there were 7 papers presented and 1 instruction of the Prime Minister, the afternoon session had 8 comments and made a general discussion.
